David Conway Photography

My name is David Conway, and I am an experienced West Yorkshire wedding photographer. My wedding photographs combine both contemporary and documentary styles. I love to explore a wedding venue and all its features. Once I know what I will be able to use, I can be very creative when it comes to lighting and composition. Spontaneous moments produce the best wedding photographs, especially when they include the newly married couple.

The Manor House, Lindley offers many wonderful opportunities for beautiful backdrops and picturesque views. No matter where you go on the estate, you will find a beautiful place to share a special moment or two with loved ones. As I'm telling your wedding story, I will always look for the special moments that are uniquely yours. The moments that could only represent you and the love you have for one another are what I am trying to capture.

History of The Manor House, Lindley

Number One Lidget Street is one of Huddersfield’s most historic buildings and a wonderful example of classic Georgian architecture.

Complete with a grand gated entrance, gravel drive, water feature, and gardens, it was originally built as the home for the renowned Huddersfield mill owner and philanthropist, James Nield Sykes.

The property was later sold to the local authority and became Fieldhead Children’s Home, before a fire some years later meant that the house fell into disrepair and stood empty for many years.

The huge restoration project was started by Sara Presley in 2016 to bring this amazing build back in to life.

West Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

Lindley is located in the North of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, with close links to the M62.  It is one of the regions premier wedding venues thanks to it’s eye for detail, friendly staff and wonderful surroundings.

With my documentary style of photography, I can capture the full range of emotions a couple can experience on their big day. West Yorkshire offers many locations and venues that are excellent backdrops for great photos. Some of my most iconic wedding photos are captured at historic manor houses and castles throughout the area. One of the unique factors is the diversity that West Yorkshire has to offer. Gorgeous abbeys to luxury estates offer beautiful settings that create any type of setting you can imagine in this area of the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What area do you cover?

I am based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, which gives me access to Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and large areas of Yorkshire.  As a rule, I am happy to travel up to 60 miles to cover a wedding.  Any further than this I would have to charge a travel fee.

2.  How many photos will I get from our wedding photography?

Every wedding is different and the number of images you receive can be a reflection of what moments are there to be captured.  On a normal wedding day I usually deliver between 600-800 images to your online gallery.

3. How long will it be before I receive my wedding gallery?

I know how keen my couples are to see and share some images from their wedding day, so with this in mind I always like to provide a selection of teaser shots a day or two after the wedding day.  This would usually be around 20-30 images.  I then aim to deliver the full collection of images on an online gallery within 6-8 weeks.

4.  Can I share my images and buy prints and wall art?

From the online gallery my coupes will have access to the full selection of wedding images, but they will be subtly watermarked.  From the gallery you would be able to order any prints or wall art directly through my professional printing service.  You would be able to share the gallery to any friends and family, and they too, would be able to order any prints they may like as well.  If you wanted the full collection of high resolution images to share and keep, my couples do have the option of ordering a USB.  See more on my packages page here.

5.  How long have you been Photographing Weddings?

Having been photographing weddings for the best part of 13 years, I am a highly experienced photographer.  I have been lucky to work at some of the countries premium wedding venues and have one many awards, including the prestigious Guild Of Photographers Wedding Photographer of the Year for 2021.

6. Are you fully Insured?

Yes, I have insurance for all my equipment as well as £2M public liability insurance.  I also have Drone insurance as well as the necessary drone qualifications to be legal and safe when flying at a wedding.

7. Will we have to pay extra for Drone Photos?

No.  I see my drone as an essential piece of equipment on a wedding day, and so long as the weather allows it and it is safe to do so, I will use it on your wedding day to capture shots of the venue, your guests and it allows me to get creative when getting shots of my couples too.

8. How do I book in for a chat about my wedding?

Get in touch using my contact page here and we can arrange a chat, either in person at my home in Brockholes, Holmfirth, or we can arrange a Zoom call.
