As an award-winning North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I would love to take your photos at Ripley Castle. My name is David Conway, and I have been a Ripley Castle wedding photographer for many years. The romantic atmosphere surrounding the castle and its beautiful gardens make it a favourite of many engaged couples. As a wedding venue, it has the quintessential essence of Yorkshire romance. The rich history of the medieval manor house lends to the charm of the wedding venue and allows you to take advantage of many unique photographic opportunities.
As your documentary-style Ripley Castle Wedding photographer, you will have my services for your whole wedding day celebration. We will begin with the bridal preparations and end sometime during the evening reception. If you choose to have a church wedding and your reception at the castle, I will travel along as you move from place to place, taking shots of every member of your bridal party and guests. There are many times when the moments are spontaneous. Those are the unique photos that capture the true essence of your love. Those are the one-of-a-kind moments that a posed photograph can't recreate.
Located near Harrogate, UK, Ripley Castle was built over 700 years ago. Received by Sir Thomas Ingleby as part of his bride's dowry, the castle and its gardens have stood the test of time. Still owned by the Ingleby family, it has been renovated and turned into a listed wedding venue. The luxury venue offers everything a glowing bride could ask for. The castle's rich history and exquisite architecture make for breathtaking photographs. You can schedule a tour of the castle and grounds to learn more about the history that made it the national landmark it is today!
Ripley Castle weddings are for couples who want the fairytale wedding they have always dreamed of. Your big day should be filled with enchantment and all the elegant trappings that make you feel like royalty. Ripley Castle has all the intrigue and excitement a 700-year-old historic landmark can offer. The well-maintained gardens and beautiful views of the Yorkshire countryside add to its romantic charm and style. As a North Yorkshire wedding photographer with a flair for fine art and documentary-style images, your wedding album from Ripley Castle will contain many amazing photographs.
If Ripley Castle is your choice for your wedding venue, I would be honoured to be your wedding photographer. The history and style of the castle will send you back in time. Working hand-in-hand with your wedding planners, we will be able to come up with many unique ideas when it comes to Ripley Castle photography. I can tell your wedding story with a combination of colour and black-and-white photographs that will make your wedding album pop. Every time you look at your wedding photos, you can relive every special moment and emotion you experienced on your big day.
I'm a West Yorkshire wedding photographer who's won awards. My name is David Conway. I've been a wedding photographer for over 15 years, and I capture both documentary-style images of the day and stunning, contemporary images of the couple. I minimise the number of times I tell people where to stand or how to pose themselves because my style is generally natural and unposed. As a result, the wedding photos are natural and relaxed.
I've won several prestigious awards from the Guild of Photographers for my work as a wedding photographer.
Guild Of Photographers Wedding Photographer of the Year Top Five 2019
Guild Of Photographers Wedding Photographer of the Year Runner Up 2020
Guild Of Photographers Wedding Photographer of the Year Winner 2021
Guild Of Photographers Wedding Photographer of the Year Runner Up 2022

1. What area do you cover?
I am based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, which gives me access to Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and large areas of Yorkshire. As a rule, I am happy to travel up to 60 miles to cover a wedding. Any further than this I would have to charge a travel fee.
2. How many photos will I get from our wedding photography?
Every wedding is different and the number of images you receive can be a reflection of what moments are there to be captured. On a normal wedding day I usually deliver between 600-800 images to your online gallery.
3. How long will it be before I receive my wedding gallery?
I know how keen my couples are to see and share some images from their wedding day, so with this in mind I always like to provide a selection of teaser shots a day or two after the wedding day. This would usually be around 20-30 images. I then aim to deliver the full collection of images on an online gallery within 6-8 weeks.
4. Can I share my images and buy prints and wall art?
From the online gallery my coupes will have access to the full selection of wedding images, but they will be subtly watermarked. From the gallery you would be able to order any prints or wall art directly through my professional printing service. You would be able to share the gallery to any friends and family, and they too, would be able to order any prints they may like as well. If you wanted the full collection of high resolution images to share and keep, my couples do have the option of ordering a USB. See more on my packages page here.
5. How long have you been Photographing Weddings?
Having been photographing weddings for the best part of 13 years, I am a highly experienced photographer. I have been lucky to work at some of the countries premium wedding venues and have one many awards, including the prestigious Guild Of Photographers Wedding Photographer of the Year for 2021.
6. Are you fully Insured?
Yes, I have insurance for all my equipment as well as £2M public liability insurance. I also have Drone insurance as well as the necessary drone qualifications to be legal and safe when flying at a wedding.
7. Will we have to pay extra for Drone Photos?
No. I see my drone as an essential piece of equipment on a wedding day, and so long as the weather allows it and it is safe to do so, I will use it on your wedding day to capture shots of the venue, your guests and it allows me to get creative when getting shots of my couples too.
8. How do I book in for a chat about my wedding?
Get in touch using my contact page here and we can arrange a chat, either in person at my home in Brockholes, Holmfirth, or we can arrange a Zoom call.
Part of the wedding planning process is booking the right photographer. I would love to get to know you. Call today to schedule an appointment so we can sit down and learn a little about one another. Send an email if you prefer! The sooner I meet you, the more time I will have to create an idea of photos you would like to capture during your ceremony, reception and evening party.
